This gold coin was given to my mother as a child by haile selassie, the emperor of etheopia. The coin is pure gold, and she said it was probably worth a couple of hundred dollars, but i told her it’s probably there in the thousands. How would i check the value?

I’ve just heard on the radio that the new $50 gold coins will be selling for $800. Are these coins legal tender?.Why can’t a person just go to a bank and get a $50 coin like one would get a roll of quarters? Back 30 years ago when silver dollars were more common, they may have been of value to collectors, but, at the grocery store, a silver dollar was worth no more than one dollar.

I was looking at a Chinese Panda coin, it says this on it: first it has a bunch of chinese symbols, after that it says .999 1/2oz Au, at the bottom of the coin it says 50.
What I am wondering, is this an actual 1/2 oz gold coin. Does the Au mean anything negative towards its value?

My great grandmother passed away and i got this necklace that has a 20 dollar gold coin from 1776. how could i tell if it was real or a replica?

I can not find a coin with the cross or the flag and cross on it anywhere. Every thing else on the coin makes it appear to be a Valentinian 1. The cross stands alone and the flag has a cross on it. The coin appears to date about 375 Ad. I have not seen a coin of this type before and can not find one.

You get less on your investment, the smaller denomination you buy your gold right? Do to manufaturing, packaging, whatnot. Therefore, bullion has larger returns in the long run than coins. So, whats the smallest denomination you’d go in for? And how much does that unit cost on average?
